N.J. vet Levinstone shifts to new club.

Promoter Stan Levinstone, former principle in Concerts East, will be the talent buyer at the new House of Blues in Atlantic City, N.J.

As
previously reported,
the 10th HOB club will be the company's largest. It is set to open July 4 weekend in association with the Mardi Gras Showboat, a subsidiary of Harrah's Operating Co.

Levinstone says he began conversations with HOB during the Billboard touring conference in November in New York. "Things just took off from there," he tells Billboard.biz. He adds that HOB senior VP Kevin Morrow "approached me about Atlantic City and I met with them Jan. 6 at the press conference announcing the HOB location." Levinstone says an agreement was reached last weekend.

Concerts East, Levinstone's Red Bank, N.J.-based concert promotion company, will continue under principles Jerry Bakal and Tony Pallagrosi, who also own and operate the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, N.J., and will continue doing concerts in the region.

"We at House of Blues are excited to have Stan join our ranks in booking the new House of Blues Atlantic City," says Morrow. "For the past 25 years, he's been a mainstay on the New Jersey music scene, and his passion for music has not diminished. We believe he will be a great fit with our other buyers."
