Reissue label had gone through BMG.

New York-based Ryko Distribution has picked up distribution of Castle Music, a mid-priced reissue label under the Sanctuary Records Group umbrella. Castle was previously distributed by BMG.

Effective Feb. 7, Ryko will handle about 200 Castle titles. The label will release a number of reissues March 5, including the Buzzcocks' "Trade Test Transmissions," MC5's "Are You Ready to Testify: The Live Bootleg Anthology" and the Damned's "Strawberries, Deluxe Edition."

Per a previous deal, a small number of Castle's releases will remain distributed by New Hope, Minn.-based Navarre.

Sanctuary created Castle in 2000 to consolidate releases that were previously issued under the Essential, Sequel and Cinephile names.

Castle is the second Sanctuary-affiliated label to make the jump from BMG to Ryko in the past month. As previously reported, Ryko is now handling London-based indie rock label Rough Trade.
