New-artist program to bow internationally.

McDonald's has signed on as a global partner for MTV's "Advance Warning" series for new and developing artists.

The monthly "Advance Warning" series has aired in Latin America and the United States, where the second season recently premiered. Locally tailored "Advance Warning" programs will be shown in various other territories around the world, starting Feb. 19 in Europe.

A new addition to the "Advance Warning" series is the "5 in '05" feature, spotlighting five artists that are MTV's picks to have a big breakthrough. The first artists selected by the network are Kasabian, the Game, Lucie Silvas, Keyshia Cole and Razorlight.

In the United States, "Advance Warning" has featured such acts as Franz Ferdinand, Kanye West, Joss Stone and Maroon5.

The deal with MTV is McDonald's latest music-related effort to reach out to young people. The fast-food company has also done deals with Justin Timberlake and Destiny's Child as part of its "I'm Lovin' It" campaign.
