Rodol named director of entertainment.
Former Ministry of Sound chief executive Mark Rodol has been appointed director of entertainment for London-based venues owner and concert promoter Earls Court & Olympia.
Rodol will oversee all entertainment events and other activities at the two London venues. Earls Court comprises two large arenas, with a capacity of up to 20,000 people, while the Olympia has three halls. Both can be used for live concerts or as conference centers.
Reporting to EC&O chief executive Anthony Lyons, he will work closely with entertainment manager Suzie Pollock, who joined EC&O in 2003 from promoter Harvey Goldsmith's HG Productions.
In addition, Rodol and EC&O are launching a joint-venture company, Trend and Culture, aimed at developing and implementing themed entertainment concepts related to the exhibition and conference business.
Rodol left MoS in July 2004 after 11 years. He was appointed CEO in March 2003 when MoS founder James Palumbo relinquished day-to-day oversight.
