EMI Music Australia executive Mark Poston has relocated to London to take up a key marketing role at Capitol Music, starting next month.

As director of global marketing, Poston will work with affiliates worldwide to develop and implement marketing strategies for releases in the Capitol Music stream, which includes Capitol Records, EMI Records, Parlophone and Blue Note.

Poston joined EMI Music Australia in 2000 as label manager for Virgin Records, and in January 2003 was elevated to his current position as head of Capitol.

In his new role, he will report to Mark Collen, senior VP of global marketing, Capitol Music.

Poston's replacement in Australia has yet to be announced. In London, he succeeds Susie Smith, who is exiting EMI to "pursue other opportunities," including an independent consultancy in the music business.
