Warner Music International has promoted executive VP Gero Caccia to COO.

Caccia has been instrumental in completing Warner's territorial realignment, which included the amalgamation in 2003 of its European and international business units.

In his new role, Caccia will have increased worldwide day-to-day management duties. Based in London, he will oversee Warner's affiliates across territories including Germany, Switzerland Austria, Italy, Spain and Scandinavia, all of which will report to him. In addition, he will have responsibilities that include legal and corporate, finance and new businesses.

"I am certain that in this new position, presiding with me in the strategic process, Gero will continue to build a strong and efficient company," WMI chairman/CEO Paul-Rene Albertini says.

Caccia joined the company in 1985 as financial director for Warner Music Italy. He was later named president of Warner Music Southern Europe before moving up to his most recent role the following year.
