Dates begin March 29 in New York.
Wind-Up Records act Alter Bridge will headline the sixth Jaegermeister Music Tour, which begins March 29 at Irving Plaza in New York. Also on the bill are Epic rockers Future Leaders of the World and Wind-Up's Submersed.
The Jager tours are produced by Rich Levy at Clear Channel Entertainment. Past outings have featured Slayer, Slipknot, Hatebreed, Saliva, hed P.E., Drowning Pool, and Ill Niño.
This time around, the music is more mainstream rock than metal. "We wanted to kind of mix it up a little bit," says Rick Zeiler, director of marketing and brand development for Sidney Frank Importing Co., which distributes Jagermeister in the United States.
The outing will play about 22 dates, many in secondary and tertiary markets that will host the Jager Music Tour for the first time. Venue capacities are 1,000-1,500. Tickets are about $30, which includes such giveaways as compilation CDs.
Other prizes and giveaways are from sponsors Schecter Guitars, Peavey Electronics and Coffin Case.
Jagermeister will come back with another tour in the fall, Zeiler says. "We're coming back this fall with something monumental," he says.
