John F. Kennedy Center is a partner.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts is partnering with the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum to present a country music festival next spring. Vince Gill and Emmylou Harris will serve as honorary co-chairs of the event, which is slated for March 23-April 16, 2006.

According to a rep for the Kennedy Center, the festival will showcase country music's most "accomplished singers, musicians and songwriters, while making connections to the music's traditional roots and exploring its regional and stylistic variations."

The line up of festival performers is still being decided.
