TORONTO -- Universal Music Canada has formed a partnership with Bell Canada to deliver master ringtones and ringtunes to the telecom company's customers.

The ringtunes service -- which allows customers to play music clips for callers, rather than the traditional ring sound -- went live the week of Feb. 18.

At launch, the service offered clips from 150 Universal tracks, as well as celebrity greetings.

Bell Mobility will roll out its ringtone service in the spring 2005 with repertoire based on more than 500 tracks from Universal.
