Danish indie Crunchy Frog has opened an office in Hamburg, Germany. With a current team of two, the new affiliate gives Crunchy Frog its first physical presence in continental Europe's biggest market. In the past, the label worked its artists in that territory through licence deals.

The first Crunchy release in Germany will be the Mopeds' "The Land of the Three," due in April; the album was originally issued in Denmark in 2001. It will be followed in May by recordings from epo-555 and PowerSolo. "Fortissimo," the new album by the Mopeds, will be released in Scandinavia and Germany, Switzerland and Austria in June.

At the same time, the Copenhagen-based label has cut a distribution deal with German indie Edel for the G/S/A. "[Edel] will handle our back catalog for now," says Crunchy product manager Søren Henriques Ferdinandsen. "After the summer, records released in Denmark will be launched simultaneously in G/S/A and Sweden, where we have a similar deal [with Bonnier/Amigo]."

Crunchy Frog's roster includes Junior Senior, Learning From Las Vegas and Superheroes.
