National British broadcaster Five has forged a two-year deal to deliver MTV award ceremonies on terrestrial U.K. television.

Through the "multi-million dollar" partnership with MTV Networks International, Five takes broadcast rights for the annual MTV Europe Music Awards, the MTV Video Music Awards and MTV Movie Awards. Five will trasmit delayed packages of the events.

As part of the deal, announced yesterday (April 12) at the Milia interactive media conference in Cannes, Five will develop promotional and marketing campaigns around the annual European awards gala, which takes place Nov. 3 in Lisbon, Portugal.

British network Channel 4 previously had the rights to air delayed packages of the EMAs on British terrestrial TV.
