Agreement covers futures, various Morrissey tracks.

British independent music company Sanctuary Group has signed Boz Boorer to a worldwide exclusive songwriting pact.

The deal -- unveiled today (April 26) -- includes future compositions and all songs Boorer co-wrote with long-time collaborator Morrissey for the former Smiths frontman's latest album “You are the Quarry” (Attack/Sanctuary).

Boorer has played guitar with acts including '80s rockabilly band the Polecats and his current project “Boz and the Bozmen.” He has also worked with artists including David Bowie, Joan Armatrading, Madness, Kirsty MacColl and Adam Ant.

"Boz is a superb songwriting talent, as well as an accomplished musician,” comments Sanctuary Music Publishing chairman Deke Arlon, who arranged the deal.

In recent months, Sanctuary has bolstered its publishing portfolio with deals for works by Axl Rose and UB40, among others.

“We intend to develop all areas of the entertainment business. Comedians, writers, actors, and lifestyle people who we believe have got a future in the entertainment world,” Arlon tells Billboard.biz.
