New release via Warner arrives June 21.
Billy Corgan will begin a solo tour in June in Lisbon in support of his solo debut, "TheFutureEmbrace," which arrives June 21 via Warner Bros. The former Smashing Pumpkins/Zwan leader will be backed by a band of musicians yet to be announced on the eight-week outing, for which only a handful of dates have been confirmed.
Corgan has been posting lengthy reports on his official Web site and his blog, including a number of candid recollections of formative experiences with Smashing Pumpkins.
Last weekend, Corgan described visiting Sacre Coeur church in Paris and sitting down to strum his guitar in anonymity. But when fans realized who he was, he obliged them with a performance of the Pumpkins' "Today." "It was the first time I had played a Pumpkins song since Dec. 2, 2000, so I was a bit rusty on the old chords, but surprisingly it all came back. All were in good, if not quite memorable voice (considering they knew the lyrics as they hear them, not what they actually are -- which I suppose is my fault if you get down to it).
Corgan's booking agent is Sam Kirby at the William Morris Agency.
