John Legend, Keane and Anna Nalick featured.

VH1 is laying out its red carpet in May to support new music artists that the network thinks fans "oughta know," including John Legend, Keane and Anna Nalick.

Launched last year on VH1.com, "You Oughta Know" introduces promising new acts that the channel thinks will appeal to its adult music base. The VH1 push includes on-air, online and off-air exposure for the artists.

Once an artist selected for this program has a video premiere on VH1, the video then joins the channel's daily music video line-up with bumpers that designate the artist as being chosen for “You Oughta Know.”

In addition, a 30-second spot from the artist's video will run during on-air program credit crunches, recommending that viewers learn more and hear more about the artist at VH1.com, which will continue to feature extensive music and info about the selected act.

Off-air promotion includes VH1 end caps in 250 Borders Books and Music stores across the country and selected in-store performances.

Previous "You Oughta Know" artists have included the Killers, Franz Ferdinand, Snow Patrol and Scissor Sisters.
