The 2005 Billboard Latin Music Awards garnered their highest ratings ever, with nearly 2 million viewers tuning in.

The show aired live on the Telemundo network the evening of April 28. According to Nielsen, ratings for the awards were 11.6, up from 8.2 the year before.

This makes it the highest rated version of the event since Telemundo began airing it in 1999.

Performers on Thursday night included Juanes, Paulina Rubio, Marco Antoio Solis, Aleks Syntek, Juan Luis Guerra, Marc Anthony and Daddy Yankee, who was joined onstage by P.Diddy for the evening’s grand finale.
