Bishop to oversee assets across distribution arms.
David Bishop, former president/COO of MGM Home Entertainment, has been appointed president of worldwide brand integration strategy for Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE).
Bishop will be in charge of overseeing MGM's assets across Sony's worldwide distribution arms including home entertainment, television and theatrical.
In the wake of Sony's purchase of MGM last month, Sony announced some executive changes, though the role of Bishop in the new company was not made immediately clear.
Bishop will report to Jeff Blake, vice chairman of SPE, in Culver City, Calif.
SPE's video group—Sony Pictures Home Entertainment—is led by president Benjamin Feingold.
MGM Home Entertainment now acts as a product management division of SPE.
Blake Thomas, former senior VP of the MGM division, was appointed executive VP of home entertainment last month.
