MTV Networks Europe will launch its new channel in Denmark on May 15 with an exclusive live performance from the Foo Fighters.

The music TV network will tape the American rockers' May 11 concert in Hellerup, Copenhagen to premiere on opening night of the new service.

MTV's networks of Europe channels will air the program June 12 on the eve of the release of the band's new double-album, "In Your Honor" (RCA). MTV affiliates in the Nordic region, United States, Asia, Japan, Latin America, Brazil and Australia will also broadcast the 60-minute concert.

As previously reported, Denmark is the first of four Nordic markets in which MTV will launch localized MTV channels this year. Services will also roll out in Sweden, Norway and Finland. Those regions are currently serviced by MTV's Stockholm-based Nordic stream.

MTV Denmark will feature tailored programming and music, local-language productions and local presenters.
