Now that Movie Gallery has completed its acquisition of Hollywood Entertainment Corporation, a number of executive changes have been announced. Joe Malugen, the former head of Movie Gallery, is now chairman/CEO/president of both Movie Gallery and Hollywood.

Lawrence Plotnick has been named executive VP/COO of Hollywood. He will oversee operations of all Hollywood Video and Game Crazy Stores. Plotnick was previously Hollywood's senior VP of store operations. He reports directly to Malugen.

Additionally, Bruce Giesbrecht, CEO/president of Hollywood, and Randall Baumberger, president of Hollywood's Game Crazy stores, are stepping down from their posts.

In a statement, Malugen said, "I am excited about combining these two great companies and look forward to a seamless integration. Together, we are well positioned for success in urban, suburban and rural markets with more than 4,500 stores and $2.5 billion in annual revenue."

The acquisition was completed April 27.
