Sony/ATV Music Publishing U.K. has elevated Rakesh Sanghvi to managing director.
Sanghvi, who until recently was deputy managing director of the U.K. company, will now oversee the publishing company's operations in Britain. Based in London, he succeeds Charlie Pinder who exited as MD last month.
"During his eight years with the company, (Sanghvi) has been involved in both the management of the organization and many of our major signings, and we believe he is the right person to take Sony/ATV Music Publishing (U.K.) to even greater heights," says Sony/ATV Music Publishing chairman/CEO David Hockman, to whom he will report.
Sanghvi joined the company in 1997 as manager of business affairs and was promoted to deputy MD in 2004. He is also a member of the board of Britain's Mechanical-Copyright Protection Society.
Sony/ATV Music Publishing owns or administers copyrights and catalogs by such artists as the Beatles, Leonard Cohen, Miles Davis, Neil Diamond, Bob Dylan, the Everly Brothers and Jimi Hendrix.
