CD Wow -- a UK-based online retailer of CDs, DVDs and games -- is launching a digital music store, offering music downloads as well as portable digital media devices.
Loudeye Corp. will operate and provide the technology and back-end services for the store.
It is the latest in a string of customer wins for Loudeye, which recently announced it will power mobile music stores for UK device manufacturer Gizmondo, German carrier O2, as well as online retail stores for Swiss retailer Migros Electronics and Polish Internet portal Onet.pl.
CD Wow says it will sell digital music tracks and complete albums next to its traditional CD format, using the company's chart-based user interface. Pricing details have not yet been released, however, so there is no indication yet as to whether the albums bought in digital format will cost less than their CD counterparts.
