Univision Communications reported a 23% increase in revenue for the quarter ending March 31, compared with 2004.
Its music group reported an increase of 59% in its net revenue for the first quarter. The music company posted net revenue of $62.2 million, compared to $26.4 million the year before.
These numbers don’t include releases on Disa Records, of which Univision owns half. Univision accounted for an average of 43 of the Top 100 Latin titles sold in the United States for the first quarter, according to Nielsen Soundscan.
According to financial results reported May 4, the Univision Communications' net revenue went from $352.9 million for the first three months of 2004 to $433 million for the first three months of 2005.
Likewise, net income increased 41%, from $31.6 million in 2004 to $44.5 million in 2005.
The improved performances were across the board for Univision properties, including the Univision television network, Telefutura, Galavision and Univision radio.
