Direct-to-consumer approach includes texts, downloads.
Tour merchandise company BandMerch and Telecast Mobile announced today (May 9) a new partnership that will allow for direct-to-consumer marketing of band merchandise on cell phones.
The deal is expected to utilize technologies including text messaging, cell-surfing and content downloads such as wallpaper, ring tones and voice tones to make consumers aware of new BandMerch offerings.
In a statement, BandMerch founder/president Donn Delson said that the deal could also include wireless contests, unique merchandise offers and live promotions during concerts.
It is unknown when the first BandMerch/Telecast Mobile promotion will launch.
