David Novik has been appointed senior VP of A&R for Universal Classics Group (UCG). Novik, who is based in New York, will be responsible for discovering new artists and projects in the classical crossover and adult music genres, including the development of new soundtrack opportunities. He reports to UCG chairman Chris Roberts.

Novik brings decades of experience in A&R including senior positions at RCA Records and Columbia Records. He has worked with such artists as Dave Matthews Band, 'N Sync, Bruce Hornsby and Chris Whitley.

Additionally, Patricia Barry was appointed senior director of creative services and production, and Bob Kranes director of marketing for UCG.

Barry reports to Marc Johnston, GM/senior VP, and Jon Singer, VP of finance. Kranes reports to VP of marketing Randy Dry.
