The Australian Record Industry Assn. and free-to-air national broadcaster Ten Network have renewed their partnership on the ARIA awards for a further three years.

The annual industry gala returned to Ten in 2002 after a brief switch to the Nine Network the year before.

Denis Handlin, chairman of ARIA and chairman/CEO of Sony BMG Australia and New Zealand, says this year's event in August will have a potential viewing audience of more than 1.3 million.

ARIA has reappointed Sydney-based Mark Pope as event producer. Melbourne-based TV production firm Roving Enterprises' Craig Campbell returns as the telecast's executive producer.

Last year, the three-and-a-half hour broadcast drew an estimated 1.38 million viewers in the five mainland capital city markets. The program gained a 51% national share of the target 16-39 year-old demographic, according to ARIA.
