Red Hot Chili Peppers with Snoop Dogg confirmed.
In what is being touted as the biggest "mash-up" concert ever held, a host of rock, hip-hop and Latin acts will descend on New York's Randall's Island in August for the inaugural AmsterJam. Sponsored by Heineken USA, the Aug. 20 event will be curated by Parliament/Funkadelic legend Bootsy Collins.
The first confirmed on-stage mash-up will feature the Red Hot Chili Peppers performing with Snoop Dogg. 311, Garbage, Mos Def, Fat Joe and "two major Latin performers" will also be on the bill in yet-to-be-announced configurations, according to organizers. Tickets go on sale Friday (June 3).
"We are going to light up the stage giving the crowd a show like they've never seen before," says Snopp Dogg of his collaboration with the Chili Peppers.
AmsterJam will also feature an Amsterdam-themed village with a second performance stage, interactive displays and club lounges.
