Sony/ATV Music Publishing has tapped a technology veteran to oversee its digital business strategy and revenues worldwide. Lauren Berkowitz, Sony/ATV's new VP of global digital business previously served as VP of digital business for Sony BMG Music Entertainment, where she led the European digital business division.

Prior to 2002, Berkowitz held positions as VP of business development for Linkedwith, a Berlin-based wireless software company, and Bertelsmann AG, where she led the CDnow international and business-to-business divisions.

"Lauren is uniquely qualified for this position given her experience in international business, technology and multimedia convergence focusing on the entertainment sector," says Sony/ATV chairman/CEO David Hockman. "Her comprehensive understanding of the global music marketplace and the digital landscape will make her a crucial member of our global team."

Berkowitz is based in New York and will report to Hockman.
