Toru Uehara has been named president and chief representative director of Japanese music publisher Fujipacific Music. He replaces Ichiro Asatsuma, who becomes Fujipacific's chairman.


Toru Uehara has been named president and chief representative director of Japanese music publisher Fujipacific Music. He replaces Ichiro Asatsuma, who becomes Fujipacific's chairman.

Uehara was previously president of London-based Fuji International Productions, a TV production company that like Fujipacific is part of the Tokyo-based Fujisankei Group media conglomerate.

Before moving to Britain in 1989, Uehara worked for Fuji TV (also part of the Fujisankei Group) in Tokyo as the director of popular TV music programs such as "Your No Hit Studio," "One Thousand and One Stars" and "You are the Star!" among others.
