Quincy Newell to handle day-to-day operations.
Independent DVD distribution company Ventura Distribution has promoted Quincy Newell to senior VP/GM of its label UrbanWorks Entertainment, which acquires, produces and distributes urban DVD content.
Newell, formerly VP of UrbanWorks, will handle day-to-day management and reports to Ventura COO Eric Doctorow in Ventura, Calif.
The announcement comes a few weeks after UrbanWorks founder/president Jeff Clanagan left the company to form Clanagan Media Group. CMG has already signed a multi-year distribution deal with Universal Music Group's Visual Entertainment.
Newell formerly acted as a consultant for Paramount Home Entertainment. He also worked as VP of marketing and product development for Blackground Records.
