Rainer Bischof has been elevated to managing director of Koch Music Publishing's operations in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. The executive had been temporarily handling those duties since the exit in December 2004 of MD Rudi Schedler. Prior to that, Bischof was head of administration at the company.

Schedler's subsequent consultancy role with KMP has concluded.

In his new role, Bischof reports to Paul Connolly, managing director of Universal Music Publishing U.K. and VP, Europe, and Victor Antippas, senior VP, central and eastern Europe, Universal Music International.

A leading publisher in the schlager genre, KMP was acquired by Universal Music Group in 2001.
