Chicago's Bloodshot Records joins Ryko fold.

New York-based Ryko Distribution has reached an exclusive U.S. distribution agreement with Chicago roots label Bloodshot Records, has learned. Bloodshot, which has released albums from Alejandro Escovedo, the Waco Brothers and Neko Case, was previously distributed by handled by Alternative Distribution Alliance.

The Bloodshot deal takes effect July 11, and will include catalog and future releases. Immediately on tap for the label, which recently signed the Detroit Cobras, is a new album from the Waco Brothers, "Freedom & Weep," due Aug. 16.

In other Ryko Distribution news, the company also signed an exclusive U.S. distribution agreement with The Secret Mountain, a five-year old Montreal-based imprint specializing in children's books and music.
