Rental chain appoints new executive VP/CFO.
Rental chain Movie Gallery, second in size to Blockbuster after recently acquiring Hollywood Entertainment, will be closing 51 of Hollywood's Game Crazy video game stores by the end of this month.
Additionally, Movie Gallery will be renaming its 23 Game Zone stores to Game Crazy stores.
Movie Gallery chairman/CEO/president Joe Malugen says these moves are a way to create more "efficiencies for the game business of both companies."
In other Movie Gallery news, the chain has appointed a new executive VP/CFO. Timothy R. Price, formerly executive VP/CFO of Hollywood Entertainment, now holds the title for the combined company.
Movie Gallery currently operates 4,7000 stores.
