Opening for Rolling Stones in D.C., Philly.
John Mayer will join forces on tour with drummer Steve Jordan (Bruce Springsteen, Rolling Stones) and bassist Pino Palladino (the Who, Jeff Beck) in a new venture known as the John Mayer Trio. Ray LaMontagne and Joss Stone have been confirmed as special guests with others to be announced.
The tour, booked by Scott Clayton at Creative Artists Agency in Nashville, begins with two nights at the Fillmore in San Francisco, Sept. 6-7. The tour will play House of Blues Clubs in Las Vegas (10), San Diego (11), Anaheim (13) L.A. (14-15), Chicago (21-22), New Orleans (27), Orland (30), Myrtle Beach, S.C. (Oct, 1) and Cleveland (4), along with such venues as the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville (Sept. 26), the Beacon in New York City (Oct. 6) and the Avalon in Boston (Oct. 11).
The John Mayer Trio will also open for the Rolling Stones at the MCI Center in Washington, D.C. (Oct. 3), the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia (Oct. 10-12).
