Loudeye Corp., the Seattle-based international digital-music service provider, has extended its business in Europe with the Nordic operations of Microsoft Corp.'s MSN Music service.

Loudeye, which already handles MSN Music in 11 European markets, will now also be responsible for the back-end technology of MSN Music in Norway, Denmark, Finland and Sweden. The move expands its MSN Music portfolio to 15 European countries.

MSN Music launched in the four Nordic countries last November, powered by Scandinavian online retailer cdon.com.

With the Nordic digital-music contract now at Loudeye, cdon.com will continue as online retail partner for MSN's non-digital music products in Scandinavia.
