Dalton Out, James In.

Asylum/Curb Records VP of promotion Rob Dalton has exited the Nashville label suddenly. Curb Records VP of promotion Carson James will assume his duties, which means James will now oversee promotion staffs for both Curb and Asylum/Curb. While a company release confirmed James' new responsibilities, it did not give a reason for Dalton's departure.

Dalton joined Asylum/Curb when the label started up in January 2003. Prior to that, he spent 15 years with Sony Music Nashville—which was still CBS Records when he got his first paying gig there in the mail room after an internship in the A&R department— and worked his way up to VP of promotion at Epic Records.
