Reorganizes field mgmt., music buying.

Newbury Comics has made adjustments to its staff and structure. As part of the reorganization, six people--four from field management and two music buyers--were released.

The company altered its field management design, which previously had a VP and five district managers, to a new configuration with two regional managers, explains Mike Dreese, CEO of the Brighton, Mass.-based chain.

Additionally, with music sales declining, the company decided to cut its music buying team. Dreese declined to give names, but sources say that among those departing is music midline buyer Harold Lepidus and a staffer who handles indie labels and consignment.
