Jeff Runyon, Warner/Chappell Music VP of administration, passed away suddenly on Aug. 28.

NEW YORK -- Jeff Runyon, Warner/Chappell Music VP of administration, passed away suddenly on Aug. 28. The cause of death was not disclosed. He was 56.

Memorial services will be held Sept. 6, 2:00 p.m., at Forest Lawn's Church of the Recessional in Glendale, Calif.

Amanda Collins with Warner Music Group says Runyon was a beloved member of the Warner/Chappell family for 25 years. He was a consummate music publisher and an extraordinary friend and colleague.

"The world of royalties was a perfect marriage of his love of music and his talent with numbers," his family wrote in an e-mail. "Jeff was so proud to be a part of the music industry. He had tremendous admiration for talented artists, the writers and musicians he was so happy to be able to serve, the people who filled the world with music -- the food for the soul." His two passions were music and baseball.

Runyon is survived by his wife Sherry, his daughters Amber and Sara, his sister Nancy, brother Greg and mother Marjolyn.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to any organization that benefits children, such as Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation, Para Los Ninos and Dodgers Dream Foundation
