EMI-distributed co. signs Joey Daniels.
Big3 Entertainment, the diversified, St. Petersburg, Fla.-based music company, has opened a country label division, Big3 Nashville. The label is distributed by EMI.
The parent company includes numerous divisions including Okie Dokie Management, WE Productions and Mojo Rizin Publishing. The five-year-old independent label Big3 Records counts among its artists Jon Secada, Cheap Trick and Stryper.
Will Byrd has been named the company's senior VP of production and Nashville operations. His background includes producing television and live performance events, as well as live radio remotes.
Singer/songwriter Joey Daniels has been signed as the country division's first artist. Her debut album, "Take Me Off the Market," is being released today (Sept. 13). It was produced by Mark Bright and James Stroud. Daniels, a native of British Columbia, will embark on a USO tour later this fall. More artists signings are expected soon.
Stroud and Big3 Entertainment chairman and CEO Bill Edwards are partners in publishing companies WS Publishing and Springfish Music. Bright is a co-owner of the latter, whose writer roster includes Danny Wells, Pam Rose, Regie Hamm and Marc Beeson.
