Digital firm to power telco´s music strategy.

Musiwave, the Paris-based international mobile-music service provider, has clinched the Europe-wide contract to offer a variety of mobile and online content to the customers of telecoms giant France Telecom.

Musiwave will power the services that sell mobile music, including full-track downloads, via wireless networks and the Internet to the 56 million customers that use France Telecom’s wireless subsidiary Orange and its Internet portal Wanadoo.

The deal represents the first time France Telecom has appointed a single company to operate its wireless-music service.

Musiwave boasts a music library of more than 500,000 tracks licensed from the major labels and independents.
