It's a date! The 2005 Billboard Music Awards will be held Dec. 6 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

The two-hour show will be telecast live on the Fox network at 8 p.m. ET and tape-delayed for the Pacific time zone.

The Billboard Music Awards honor the most popular recordings and artists of the year as determined by actual performance on the magazine's weekly charts.

The show will feature the biggest names in music and entertainment as performers and presenters. Among the honors will be the annual Century Award, Billboard’s highest accolade for creative achievement.

Bob Bain returns for his 10th year as executive producer of the show. Bruce Gowers will direct and Greg Sills will serve as supervising producer. Paul Flattery is producer and Wylleen May is the executive in charge of production.

The Billboard Music Awards have been televised exclusively on Fox since the show's inception.

Hosts, performers and presenters will be announced soon. Awards finalists will be determined after the close of the chart year in late November.
