Next year’s Brit Awards will take place Feb. 15 at the Earls Court One arena in London. The move represents a shift upwards in scale after more than six years at the smaller adjascent Earls Court Two venue.

Earls Court One will have a capacity for 6,000 guests, compared with about 4,200 at Earl Court Two.

In addition, from this year the Brits Committee will have only one chairman, Peter Jamieson, who is also chairman of the U.K. industry’s trade body British Phonographic Industry (BPI).

The committee was previously co-chaired by Jamieson and Lucian Grainge, chairman/CEO of Universal Music International Group.

Proceeds from the Brit Awards, which are staged by the BPI, go to charity.
