After a Sept. 16 concert appearance in Morton, Minn., Trace Adkins was admitted to a local hospital where he underwent emergency surgery for an abdominal inflammatory infection.

Adkins had been experiencing abdominal pain for the previous two days, although he attended a Country Music Assn. board of directors meeting the day before the surgery.

His doctors say the procedure was a success and are they expecting a full recovery with no post-operative complications. Adkins responded favorably to the surgery and is in good condition.

To date, previously scheduled concerts have been cancelled including upcoming gigs in Spencer, Iowa (Sept. 17), Hutchison, Kan. (Sept. 18), Ashland, Ohio (Sept. 21) and Centerville, Mich. (Sept. 24).
