(Reuters) -- Mashboxx appointed Mike Bebel as its president/CEO. He will take on the role immediately, replacing Wayne Rosso, who will remain chairman of Mashboxx.

Bebel previously served as chief executive of Pressplay, a joint venture music service between Vivendi Universal's Universal Music Group and Sony Corp's Sony Music.

Pressplay was purchased by software company Roxio and folded into the new Napster service. Bebel served as president/COO of the Napster operations before departing last year.

Roxio completed the sale of its consumer software division in December 2004 and now operates under the Napster name.
