Exec takes over all front-line activities.
Willy Ehmann has been promoted to senior VP of Sony BMG Germany's music division, effective immediately.
He was senior VP of Sony BMG in Berlin since November 2004. He reports to Sony BMG Germany president Edgar Berger, who says the change is meant to strengthen the company's domestic position.
Ehmann replaces Joerg Hellwig, who was heading the music division at the company's headquarters in Munich since May 2004.
In his new position, Ehmann will be responsible for the company's national and international repertoire, A&R and promotion in Berlin and Munich.
Hellwig will continue to work in a new capacity, which will be announced in the next days, according to Berger: "Hellwig will continue to play an important role to build up the local artist roster."
"We want to merge our front-line activities in one leadership," said Maarten Steinkamp, president of Sony BMG Continental Europe and chairman & CEO of Sony BMG Germany. "Willy Ehmann proved over years that he has got all he needs for this task."
