Madonna is to be the headline act at this year's MTV Europe Music Awards, Billboard.biz has learned. The show will take place on Nov. 3, in Lisbon, Portugal.
The Warner Bros. Records-signed artist will be giving the first live performance of the first single "Hung Up" from her forthcoming album, "Confessions on a Dance Floor," due out 11 days after the event.
She will be joining Coldplay, Green Day, Foo Fighters, Robbie Williams and the Black Eyed Peas as the other confirmed performers.
Borat Sagdiyev, the spoof Khazakstan television journalist created by comedian Sacha Baron Cohen, will host the event. Cohen hosted the 2001 MTV Europe Awards as one of his other alter egos, Ali G.
