Left post as chairman/CEO, effective immediately.
Matt Serletic is leaving his post as Virgin Records chairman/CEO effective immediately.
David Munns, chairman/CEO of parent company EMI Music North America, will assume the position until a successor is named, said a statement from Virgin parent company EMI Music.
When asked if former Atlantic Records Group chairman/CEO Jason Flom would be named as Serletic's replacement (Billboard, Oct. 22), an EMI representative referred back to the statement that says, "a successor would be announced in due course."
"Matt is one of the most gifted producers in the business today," said Munns in the statement. "He's done a tremendous amount in the first phase of reinventing Virgin."
Serletic, whose contract wasn't up until May, started at Virgin in June 2002.
