Industrial vets launch 13th Planet Records.
Ministry leader Al Jourgensen has launched 13th Planet Records and will release upcoming Ministry and Revolting Cocks albums via the label’s joint-venture with Megaforice/MRI. Jourgensen also intends to use 13th Planet to sign developing artists.
Megaforce managed Ministry during a period in the early ‘90s and the label’s releases are distributed via Sony BMG’s RED Distribution. While the length and terms of the joint venture were not revealed, Megaforce VP Missi Callazzo says it’s a duration that “gives Ministry a shot at signing a few bands and developing them.”
Megaforce and 13th Planet will release the Revolting Cocks’ “Cocked and Loaded” on Feb. 14, an album that features guest appearances from Robin Zander, Rick Nielsen, Jello Biafra and Gibby Haynes, among others. Ministry’s “Rio Grande Blood” will follow in April.
