First national songwriting/composing conference.
ASCAP will present the first national songwriting and composing conference next year, to be held April 20-22 at the Hollywood Renaissance Hotel in Los Angeles, it was revealed today (Nov. 3).
The performing rights organization's president and chairman Marilyn Bergman, along with fellow songwriters, composers and producers such as Glen Ballard, Desmond Child, Michael Giacchino, James Newton Howard, Rudy Perez, Linda Perry, John Shanks, Hal David and Jimmy Jam, will help kick off the inaugural "I Create Music" Expo.
"This is a must attend event for all serious music creators working to achieve greater success," said Bergman in a statement. "In keeping with the long tradition of ASCAP's top songwriters and composers helping to nurture those starting out in the business, attendees will have the opportunity to hear music legends talk about their craft and the chance to interact with them in a variety of settings.
The event will feature two days of panels, workshops, keynote speakers, song critiquing, technology demonstrations and performances. To register, visit www.ascap.com/expo.
