Padgett assumes role at Joe Louis, Cobo..
Tim Padgett has been named VP/GM of Joe Louis Arena and Cobo Arena in Detroit, effective immediately.
Prior to assuming his current position, Padgett was VP of park operations at Comerica Park for Major League Baseball’s Detroit Tigers and VP of building operations at Joe Louis Arena.
A veteran of 10 years with Olympia Entertainment, Padgett began his career as an intern in the operations department at Joe Louis Arena. He has held several key positions at Joe Louis Arena, in addition to his most recent dual role at Comerica Park.
In his current role, Padgett will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the business administration and operations of 20,000-seat Joe Louis Arena and 12,000-seat Cobo Arena, reporting to Olympia president Randy Lippe. Padgett replaces Mike Healy, who now oversees operations at Comerica Park.
Olympia Entertainment is a division of Ilitch Holdings, whose primary businesses include Little Caesars Pizza, the Detroit Red Wings of the National Hockey League, the Detroit Tigers, Olympia Entertainment, and a variety of venues within these entities. The holding company’s 2004 total combined revenues exceeded $1 billion.
