Theater will show Green Day, Seal concerts.

Opus Entertainment, a new destination for downloading music, buying DVDs and watching concerts on the big screen, opened today at the Palisades Mall in West Nyack, N.Y.

Opus will show concerts from Green Day, Alanis Morissette, Goo Goo Dolls, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Motley Crue, Tom Petty and Seal for $10 to $12 per ticket in its 260-seat venue called the Opus Theater featuring digital surround sound. The facility's seating will change depending on the focus of the event, and will include tables for four as well as a private room that can hold 20.

Opus is working with all the major concert content owners, including EMI Group and Warner Bros. Music, to attain programming.

The venue will also show classic concerts from acts such as Bob Marley, the Doobie Brothers, Fleetwood Mac, Tina Turner and Duran and Duran. Opus will host jazz and classical nights, and will also show specialty programs catering to children.

In addition to ticketed events, the venue has a free area called the Opus Lounge, which features stations where patrons can download music, create custom CDs, watch music videos and buy music DVDs. Consumers will also be able to play musical instruments in special sound booths.
