While Mariah Carey was the big winner onstage at Saturday’s third annual Vibe Awards, stars like Big Boi, Ciara, Kwame, Akon, Akon protégé T-Pain, DJ Quik, Funkmaster Flex, Chris Brown and Trillville were heard backstage discussing upcoming projects.

Outkast’s Big Boi says the duo’s anticipated “Idlewild” soundtrack is slated for first quarter 2006. “We're trying to pick the single right now. It's all about a gut instinct,” says Big Boi...

Ciara, who led the field with five Vibe nominations, took home the coolest collabo award for "Oh" featuring Ludacris. She’ll her mark her feature film debut when “Rumble” is released in May 2006. She describes the film as a moral story about a teen trying to figure out herself: “You can have all the things in life and still be unhappy.” Co-stars include Jackee and Marques Houston. In the meantime, Ciara says she will follow up her current tour junket with Gwen Stefani with a spot on a new Scream tour. Then she plans to return to the studio to record her next project...

Chris Brown says the second single from his self-titled debut album is “Yo,” produced by Andre & Vidal. The album arrives in-store Nov. 29...
